Extra gas tank in CS 3920

My 2009 CS 3920 has never had any use in the extra gas tank. Any comments about the possibility of starting to use it. Would it be full of rust or other debris? Any ideas of how to check it and prepare it for use.
Thanks.

We added a 40 gallon fuel tank to our gas GM chassis. Found out that Fleetwood was taking a 40 gallon fuel tank off the chassis and putting a 80 gallon tank on. At that time they were being built in Riverside Ca. and I contacted them and they said if we came down we could just take one. It mount right behind 80 tank. They gave us all the brackets and even fuel tank full hose. Still a lot of work but it was nice to go around 8 to 9 hundred miles before fill up. Also added a 50 gallon diesel tank to a Spartan chassis that only had a 100 gallon tank. Again a lot of work and you will need to check your weights to see if the extra fuel still keeps you from over weight problems. I can be done.

I have a 2011 CS 3920 (love it) that I bought used. There was a little gas in the tank and the pump was burned out when I bought it. After replacing the pump, I poured 5 gallons of clean gas into the tank from a gas can, then I drove the RV around for 15 minutes. After parking I turned the pump on and pumped 5 gallon back into the gas can and inspected it. It was clean, no water, no rust, no dirt. I was satisfied that the tank was ok to use. I also added another 10ft section of hose to the pump so I could reach the RV gas tank.
