Fabric choices 🤔

Received my fabric samples from Newmar today to replace the cracked/peeling fabric in our BSS. Got about 20 samples to choose from, and they all seem different. Some have a felt type backing, some have a woven backing. One says “halo fabrics” on the back.

I’d like to have genuine Ultrafabric put in so I never have to worry about it again. Anyone have fabric experience that could tell if any of these may be ultra fabric?

I took a pic of the various backing styles. Tried googling the numbers but no luck.

Those are Newmar stock numbers. The description from the Newmar catalog may help you determine the manufacturer. In case you don’t have a Newpar account, I have attached those five as shown in Newmar’s online catalog.

I went on Newmar parts (Newmar.Newmar Corp.com), click on Catalog Shop on the bar across the top, then and put in the number from the back of the fabric and click Go. Search is slow so be patient.

That will tell you the manufacture p/n and color. Most I received were able to be found. Then you can go to Ultrafabric website to confirm.

Just a thought.

Could you take the samples to an upholstery shop for guidance. Perhaps a boat place or automotive upholstery shop.

Looks like so far some of these samples are from Ultrafabric’s Brisa line. This should be a worthwhile upgrade.

Ok so I went through all the stock numbers and picked out some gems. Tossed all the Brand X fabrics to the side. Top row is Ultrafabrics Brisa, second row is Ultrafabrics Toscana, and the last one on the bottom is the lone sample of Ultrasuede HP. Now just have to choose 🤔

I would stay away from the Toscana line. Ultrafabrics dropped that line and if you look at the specs it appears it was a lower end designed to compete with brand X's.

I have Brisa in my London Aire and I can attest that it is breathable and soft just as Ultrafabrics advertises. If you research Brisa, in the boating world it is loved because of it's breathability.

If none of those initial swatches are of your liking they will send another set.

Bob...Just curious, do you need to change out the fabrics on your New Aire?

Yup I'm gonna go with the Brisa as well. It'll be a $700 up charge to have everything redone in that fabric but that seems like a worthwhile upgrade to me.

Update on the response from Newmar, since I will be going to the factory I'll get a whole new dinette and a new couch. If a local dealer does it, they just recover the existing furniture. Since Flexsteel is out of the game, I wonder what they'll use? They said they'll be sending me options for the new furniture within a week or so.

Yes, driver and passenger seat surfaces are starting to flake on the edge of the seats. Newmar has been great with coordinating recovering of the captain’s chairs and now replacing instead of recovering the couch and Euro booth. Slight fee for the upgraded Ultrafabric material we chose.

Work scheduled for January so we can use it all summer.

Unfortunately I’m looking at a May/June repair. But that’s ok, we do a lot of travel in the spring and fall anyway. I’m low man on the totem pole at work so it’s easier to get leave then lol
