Factory bumper cutouts empty

Hi All,

I am looking to improve the known inadequate driving lights on my 2009 DS.

In looking at my options, I will most certainly upgrade the low beams either with high powered halogen, xenon or LED beams but that isn't my reason for posting.

I would like to add some fog/driving lights to the space (shown in pic) below the front signal. I wonder if anyone would know where I could either source some lenses or closed beams that would fit like the signal lights do.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry couldn't upload an image but here is a link to one just like mine as a reference.

I am sure they could tell us the answer to approx. 99% of the queries posted on this forum, however, it's much nicer hearing alternatives from our peers, wouldn't you agree?

Miramichi: I think I did exactly what you are discussing. I replaced the filament-type headlight bulbs with LED fixtures. I had an oval cut-out for the foglight, so I found two square fixtures that would fit side-by-side into the oval. I manufactured the mounting bracket for the two "foglights" from 2x2" aluminum channel. The two headlights were plug-and-play.

The headlights are CREE:

You may need this resister kit (depends on your LCM): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The "foglights" are RIGID:

and,

Looks like the lights [above] are a bit different now (and priced differently) than what I had purchased in January [pictured below] from a local 4X4 shop. Regardless, the kits I received were pretty turn-key - make for a very easy install. LEDs upfront make all the difference in the world!

Hi Ken,

Yea that is what I am looking to do but I want to keep the front very factory looking so I was hoping I could source a lens that would fit there.

There have been several threads showing light assemblies that are identical to autos and I was hoping this was true for this lens for the DS.

I do have a led Cree 240w light bar I will be installing for mega light.

As a previous owner of two Dutch Stars (2000 and now the 2002 traded in on the Magna on Feb 19th 2015 after 13 years of ownership) I've always found Newmar to be responsive to my requests for info.

I appreciate your tenure and thank you for the recommendation. I have spoken with Newmar on several times and questions I have had. I am not questioning Newmar's ability or willingness to assist but they don't seem to condone mods nor supplying less expensive parts.

As I stated, it's always nice to hear and see others work. In fact I learned more from the postings of "007" in regards to Newmar ownership than from Newmar itself. Thanks!

I think those Bullet lamps mounted beside each other would also work for you and finish the hole off nicely.
