When you choose factory delivery is freight and dealer prep fees eliminated?

If so....there is no extra cost.

I noticed today the delivery/prep fee is $3,500. It must be eliminated, yes, taking delivery at the factory?

Hi Desertboyz,
The dealer should not be charging for freight or prep, if taking delivery at the factory. However, do not get too excited. There is a charge for factory delivery.

We have taken delivery at the factory and feel that it's the only way to go, it's not just the delivery at the factory, its the amount of time that they spend going over your coach that no dealer will ever do. Don't pay for freight and prep that the dealer is actually not providing. Get a build sheet together from discussions directly with Newmar and bid your coach with the best Newmar dealers. Factory delivery, along with Comfort Drive, and the ability to customize your coach to a point are differences that Newmar offers.

We've been looking for a long time. I think this is the first time we've been excited about what we've seen! Love the London Aire aesthetics, engine, etc. I think this could be the one. OK, now we will think about paying for it....! It really is perfect for us.

I think the factory delivery is the way to go. I just noticed on the window sticker that there is a $3,500 delivery/dealer prep charge. Take that off, the factory delivery is a no brainer choice!

Now we need to figure out floor plan, etc.

Really am pleased with the London Aire - and we were 100% sold on Entegra. But it feels so conservative and traditional....not our taste. But I love everything else about Entegra.

We need to still test drive the LA.

When we were negotiating our deal I included the Factory Delivery as one of our selected options. As we progressed further with the price negotiations I asked how much I could save by removing Factory Delivery and going with the standard dealer delivery. The three dealers I was working with stated between $1100 to $1400. Since they were all reasonably close in their price reduction I assumed they were telling me the truth. Either way you go there will be a charge for the delivery so to me it was well worth the extra costs of $1100 to $1400 to go with Factory Delivery. I don't know if we'll ever know the dealer's real price for delivery and prep but I do know you won't get anywhere close to the two weeks of review/work/problems fixed the Newmar Factory Delivery techs do on your coach before you arrive. In addition you get to spend a full week in your coach with your dedicated Factory Delivery tech going through your coach to whatever level of detail you desire. To me as a first time MH owner that was priceless. I also see that week as an opportunity to identify and circumvent potential issues/problems that would eventually result in warranty work at a Newmar dealer at a later time. The LA is awesome and I'm sure you'll be happy with your decision.....
