Getting ready to pick up our coach in a couple of weeks and want to know are there any cons to fan covers? Fantastic or Maxxair? White or Black? Recommendations Requested!

You can leave your vents open during travel and storage without wind or rain intrusion.
Pick the color that matches what other things are. Fantastic is amazing, but both are good.

You want the Ultra Breeze cover in smoke (gray). This allows more light in.

Good point, I hadn’t thought about light transparency.

I purchased two of the Ultrabreeze covers for our Fantastic Vents that I have to install this weekend. I thought about smoke, but remember reading somewhere that people seemed to think they were more brittle than white or black. Also if you can find smoke, they seem to be significantly more expensive than white or black. I choose black because the higher skin color of the coach is dark and the rooftop appliances are all black.
After a few outings with rain, it sure would have been nice to have had the covers already installed, in particular in the bathroom.

One of the first 3 things we put on - and you are correct - the rear bath can get smokey with the shower going and no vent - everything starts dripping

I installed the Fantastic Fan covers because they can be easily removed (4 pull pins), making the cleaning of the cover and fan lid easy and convenient.

I have been looking at the Black ones as well. If possible please post back your impression of the loss of light. Thanks.

I did not put one on the back bathroom of the Dutch Star because of the raised ceiling. I think it might add height to the rig.

I put on the white Fantastic vents. Chose white to let in more light. Great design. As Dutch Star Don said, easily removed for cleaning.

You bet. Personally I don’t feel like all the much light comes in without covers so I’m not too concerned either way.

Full disclosure: I don't have either yet, but in researching I like the Ultrabreeze over MaxAir. Not only because of cleaning, as pointed out by Dutch Star Don, but also the fact that there is a recess that exactly fits the fantastic fan hatch. This allows for more airflow.
