Fan motor support brackets

Received this yesterday about FCCC Motorhome Chassis Fan Cages. Field Service Campaign SF593AB.

They talk about the brackets, I wonder if they are cast iron because they use the word cracking.

The brackets are made from steel tube stock that is welded at connection points. There have been numerous failures where these brackets have failed causing the fan assembly to break loose and destroy the radiator.

Interesting that the dutchstar is not part of this campaign. I wonder if the ISL fan brackets are stronger, or they are the same but the smaller fan isn't a problem .

I’m pretty sure that there was several documented cases of Dutch Stars with broken fan brackets here on the forum in model years 2017/2018. So yes it is interesting

Actually I believe I am wrong, a search showed sever London Aires with the broken brackets, I did not find any Dutch Stars

Stuart, I only remember the London Aires having the issue. A few broke and destroyed the radiator.

Yet the recall doc doesn’t mention the SL chassis which is the luxury line chassis when Freightliner is chosen.

you are correct...yet another example of how poorly this entire campaign is being handled.


And by campaign, I mean the"Field Service Capaign SF593AB" that has a document name of "FCCC SF593AB Recall.pdf"


Seems like the lawyers forgot to check the filename.
