Fantastik Fan Power

Our Kitchen Fantastic Vent isn’t getting power. I swapped the controller with another one and the Kitchen controller works in the new location so it’s definitely a power issue to the controller in the Kitchen. I can’t find a power source reference in the owner’s manual and the power cable to the fan has an RJ type connector but appears smaller than Cat 5. Any ideas where the Fantastic Vents are powered from or where the junction box might be?

Thanks!

I had a fan stop working once and it turned out to be the switch for the lid. You know the one that turns off the fan when the lid is closed or turns on the fan when the lid is open.

Has it ever worked? I would think your coach is too new for that switch to go bad or get stuck.

I also experienced the switch in the lid failure. The factory told this is common. It just sticks rather than actually being bad.

My switch also got stuck. A little electrical cleaner freed it up. I just wouldn't have expected such new coaches to have that problem so soon.

I opened the lid and cycled the plunger switch multiple times. It moves freely, but cycling it had no results as far as the fan working. All green lights on the control panel are out and there is no power to the RJ connector. That’s why I think this is a wiring issue and am trying to figure out where the fans get powered from. Thanks for everyone’s responses!

In my coach I have the main AC circuit breakers and also one of the 12V fuse panels in a cabinet above the bed. On the 12V fuse panel I see a Fantastic Vent fuse - check yours.

Thanks, I looked in the 12V fuse panel next to the AC breaker panel when I started my search but I didn't see anything related to the fans. I will check again, though. It seems odd to me that 2 of the fans have power and 3rd doesn't. Since the power to the fans is supplied through RJ connectors/cables, I'm wondering where those terminate at the power supply side so I can check connections there.

I have 3 places where I have 12V fuses. 1 in the BR, 1 in the top of the dash and 1 in the power bay. Plus many inline fuses in places I probably haven't found yet.
I agree that your predicament appears to be wiring. My fans are '97 vintage with a mercury thermostat on the wall, on/off switch on the thermostat or a separate switch.
