ZAK.....Mine was the EGR pressure sensor. My code was saying the same thing. Out of limit EGR temperatures. It sure sounds like Cummins needs to get on this and resolve the issue. I won't drive mine again until next week, but it will be a short trip in cool weather. July 30th we'll head north out of L.A. towing my Silverado to Oregon. We'll see what happens then.

Mine isn't as powerful as my ISL in my 05 Diplomat, but it was chipped to 450 HP and was 5K lighter. It does run well though. I usually drive about 60mph and always drop it into 5th (while in cruise control) just at the base of most grades. It pulled the Baker grade in and out of Vegas well and the Needles grade in California.

That's exactly what the replaced on ours two days ago. Then the fault light came on again yesterday so either it's another bad sensor, or there is another issue cummins needs to get on top of. Either way, we are driving it home 4,000 miles or til it pukes.

Sounds like Cummins might have an issue!

Update

Had a few pm's inquiring as to whether I drove my MADP into the ocean with its engine malfunction fault codes or not...especially from Harleychief who reminds me that this is an awesome family of people sharing a common passion.

Here's the update...I have put 800 miles on since my second EGR fault code went off, and after having it diagnosed and "fixed" at freightliner in Cheyenne. We went to Vegas for 5 days at LVMR. Drove it through 110 degree heat hard with light on...no loss of power or upgrades to the dreaded "check engine light" or worse yet....the "stop engine" light.

See attached photo from the malibu rv park in Cali where we now are for a few days... You can tell I'm worried.

Hwh's still screaming but working. I did a slick repair on the rear engine hood strut that pulled out of the body work. Pics to follow when I figure out how to work an iPhone .

Engine bat strut mod...

My hydraulic busy door strut pulled free on way into Vegas...and bumper door stop ripped out as well. I found a steel joiner plate at lowes and used some bolts and drilled holes to at least fix up the strut to be more solidly mounted. Newmar puts three screws in the shallow fibreglass ant I guess they vibrated free over 50 hours of 75 mph across America ....

WARNING this is not intended to imitate a Dutch star don quality mod or repair in any way shape or form...(Deek would like that legal disclaimer). This is a short term repair. I will get newmar to fix properly under warranty in nappanee.

Zak....I'm about 30 minutes away....I could have come over with my welder and tools! Now that yours has come loose, I'm going to look at mine a little closer.

Have you tried the fish joint just down the street. There is also a place called Neptune's net if you head north a little on Hwy 1. Both have some pretty good fish.

The gestapo at Malibu RV park haven't given you any problems yet? Sometimes they can be pretty tough on guests.

If you're looking for something to do, the Reagan Library is pretty neat. If you go outside on the patio and look off at about 2 o'clock, you might see my Dutch Star parked in the side yard.

Don, the park police have spoken to me about parking my toad improperly and they are ever vigilant about deposits on everything from ping pong rackets to park cable boxes. Nice views but constant sewage odour...especially in the morning.

Had fish tacos down the road For lunch and hit dukes barefoot bar tonight for drinks and grub. Great area to sightsee but traffic is crazy with construction on the phc. Heading up to San Fran on Friday for a few days around the bay and napa.

Here's a pic of what my engine bay door strut looked like when i arrived in Vegas last week. All the screws pulled out of the fibreglass. Not cool. I don't know if newmar will Fix or not. Guess they would have to Rebuild fibreglass and out some kind of of plate in like I did to strengthen it up. Screws were junk.

Cheers!

Slabman, were you able to get your front shades "OFF" the Ignition circuit? I'd love to be able to operate these while driving. I asked Newmar about doing this and they refused for Liability reasons. I guess I understand that. If I can move that electrical supply, I will try to relocate a switch to the dash somewhere!
