First Question

A lot of the systems in our, new to us, 08 Ventana are quite different than our travel trailer.

So here goes...When hooking to city water and having the valve in the closed position is the water just going to the system and not filling the fresh water tank?

I think that's the way it works, just want to confirm.

I'm going to start the process of de-winterizing the unit.

Thanks for any help.
Don

The valve position as shown in the picture is open. Meaning when connected to city water, you will be filling the fresh water tank and no water going to the coach.
If this valve is open, and you turn on the on board water pump, with the city water off, the pump will run continuously drawing water from the fresh water tank and flowing back into the fresh water tank. This is a common error after filling the fresh water tank.
In other words, always make sure this valve is in the Off Position for normal operation.

Thanks, Dennis, for the fast answer. I'm still a little confused because the position that the valve in the picture is turned CW till it stops. The position in the picture below, I turned it CCW till it stopped. 90 Degrees. This position indicates the valve is open.

I guess I could hook up the water and see what happens. I don't think I can hurt anything.

Thanks again,
Don

The picture in your second post is the fill position, the first picture is in the normal position. Someone changed the handle position, confusing us.

No it won't hurt anything, I've left mine open for a few minutes until I realized the pump was running (or couldn't get water out of the faucets) with no apparent harm to the pump.

When I figured mine out I got the Magic Marker and marked it so I could see, and remember, what position is what.

Well, today went well...easier than I thought. Water issue understood, hot water heater sorted out and I just have to quit over thinking things.

Thanks again for the help and on to the next one.
