We’ve flat towed a ‘22 and now a ‘24 raptor. There’s nothing different than a regular f150to my knowledge.

As with any vehicle I’ve towed, ensure a hot wire (charge cord) is run to the battery of the toad to keep it charged and everything working. We do this through the wire harness that controls lights and braking system.

Follow the steps in the operators manual that can be accessed through the touchscreen for placing into/out of flat tow mode. We’ve made up a small cheat sheet that we use so we don’t have to go searching each time.

Enjoy your truck on your journeys! It’s a highly capable and comfortable vehicle in many situations IMO.

Yes, keep that battery charged.
I installed a blue tooth device to monitor.

A wimpy charge line that is long and thin can drop the voltage too low to actually overcome the internal resistance of the toad battery, and thus not charge it properly.

I po-pooed a DC to DC charger until finally giving it a real thought and test. It doesn't need to be a monster.

On my last toad, a 2012 Edge Limited, keeping the battery charged was nearly impossible. I finally added a simple heavy duty two wire system. Much like you used to see on tow trucks.

Excellent info,thanks…..you use a 7 to 6 wire umbilical cord to transfer power from the coach to the toad correct?? Any idea what would happen if the battery did go dead while being towed….of course while in flat tow mode??? Best regards joe b

There are some concerns that the transmission will come out of neutral if the battery goes dead. Do a search for the issue.

I tow a 2018 F150 w 10 speed transmission. I do not have a charge line but my brake system is a RoadMaster Brakemaster that uses only coach air. The brake and tail lights are wired to the coach with diodes so no battery draw.

I’ve not had a low battery even after an exhausting 500 mile day. I’ve towed the truck about 30,000 miles. The one thing I am seeing since the towed mileage does not register you gave to keep up with wheel bearings and hubs. I burnt out a front hub and bearing probably due to high rolling miles.
