Has anyone had troubles with the metal brackets that support the flip-up counters? Ours has broken twice, once from the factory to the dealer and once from the dealer to home. If so, what did you do to fix it? Looking for some suggestions. Thanks!

Late answer Shaun & Amy did the braket brake or just come off the Corian counter?
The screws will sometimes pop out of the under side of Corian, fill hole with cement and redrill. When you want to drop counter just lift slightly and fold the brakets as you lift.
If the pivot point on braket broke drill out remains and use a locking nut and small bolt.

Hi 007,

The actual brakets broke and not on the pivot point. The metal of the bracket cracked in half. That Corian counter is very heavy and in my opinion needs a stronger brackets. Trying to work things out with Newmar and the dealer to get it resolved. Just seems under-designed.

HI,When I had my MA I added the flip up shelf myself and had to drill Corian. The brakets were heavy metal and worked well, with no flexing or binding. My present coach 03 has same type brakets, if your at dealer check out a older coach and see if they have not cheapen the design.
Remember you have to lift the shelf to unluck the brakets.

Hey 007,

Thanks for all you advice. I appreciate it. I'll have to check out an older model to see what they use to use, because these can't be the same ones. These brackets broke twice while traveling. We hadn't even used it yet. I'm sure we'll get it straightened around. That's why we bought a Newmar....they stand behind them.

Thanks again,
Shaun and Amy

We had an Airstream with a Corian counter top extension and had one of these metal brackets break during transit. Our solution was to take it off and store the extension because we didn't use it anyway.

I agree with you completely that there is just too much weight for these flimsy metal brackets. There's also the posibility for more damage being caused when one breaks while you're towing than to the bracket alone.

How's the rest of your new Kountry Aire?

I understand that ours was built last week (or the week before) and will be shipped to Wilkins sometime in April. We aren't planning to pick it up at Wilkins until about 5/15, unless we get the urge to go there early (that urge is there already!)

Hi John,

Outside of that bracket issue, the rest of the coach is great! We love it. There's nothing that I would change. We are very happy with all the custom additions we made and are completely satisfied. The same holds true with Wilkins. Picking up our coach was painless and they've been working hard to try to resolve the brackets. Good luck with your's. I'm not sure I could wait to get it. We had to wait two weeks and it drove us nuts.
