Floor trim replacement

We have noticed the rubber like trim at the top of the entry stair is not holding up. We had it fixed (?) by the dealer while on warranty but the rubber material just doesn't hold up to repeated stepping on as you go up and down the steps. Has anyone noticed this issue (we have a LE) and what did you do if anything?

That is a wear indicator just like on your tires. It tells you when it is time to buy a new Dutch Star.
