Folding Mirror Adjustment/Setting

I haven't paid much attention to the folding mirror settings on our DS since purchasing it, since they were in a good position, but I've recently had a couple tight situations where manually folding the mirrors would have been helpful. In both cases, the mirrors were not foldable by hand. After removing the main bolts in the arms, it became apparent that the mirrors had seized. After soaking both in lube for a few days, I was able to break both free, but now I'm wondering how to reset them.

Intuition tells me that I should apply some anti-seize to the folding arm mechanism, and tighten the bolts just enough that the arms don't move, but so I can still fold them by hand. Any reason I should not do this, and simply tighten them down?

Thoughts?

Unless you have some mirror that was special ordered, I've never seen or heard of folding mirrors on an RV. Yes, they're adjustable, after you loosen the bolts and I guess technically foldable, if you loosen the bolts each time. But they're not really designed to be foldable like a car mirror. If you strike something with your mirrors, they'll break off! A power folding mirror would be cool though!

I'm very anal about the mirrors being vertical front to back and side by side. I also like to make sure that the mirror glass isn't adjusted so that it's crooked inside the head of the mirror, but centered side to side.

I usually tell people to run an imaginary string the length of the coach, out past the windshield. Then adjust the inner edge of the mirror until it just touches the string. This keeps the mirror as tight as possible to the side of the coach and still gives you a full view. I then adjust the head so that the mirror is centered and perfectly vertical as discussed above.
