Freightliner FCCC extended coverage

I am considering purchasing the FCCC Extended Chassis Coverage, from FCCC. I understand it doesn’t cover engine, transmission and drive axle. Can get coverage for 7 years or 125,000 miles, from date of purchase.

The allure to me is coverage of electronic instrument panel and chassis electrical functions. Plus it covers A/C, hydraulic and air lines, steering and cooling system.

Cost is around $2,600.00.

Does this sound like a good idea or just a waste of money. I will say I do not purchase extended coverage on other items because I feel confident in making repairs. With all the electronics and electrical on this 2021 I do not feel as confident.

I bought it when we bought the coach new. However, at that time you could tailor the coverage. I selected coverage that was the same as my engine and transmission which is 5 years/ 50K miles. For that coverage, in 2019, it was $1800.00. I figured that gave me 5 years of chassis and engine coverage.

They had things like 125K miles on the rear axle, I didn't see a need for that.

Coverage is a crap shoot..... I'm one of those who doesn't pay for extended coverage on anything. So far so good with ours picked up in Sept 2019. If you don't have the cash to pay for a big expense, it may be a good move.

Gary Where did you find the FCCC Extended Warranty? I tried to contact a POC I had from a couple years ago but no reply. Have looked but have not found the FCCC extended warranty Web page or link. Would appreciate any info you can provide. Thanks,

George I got the information from a Freightliner Manager at an AIM rally. The only person handling extended coverage is a gentleman named Chris Johnson. His contact information is as follows;

Chris Johnson
Corporate Sales Engineer
714-458-6020
cjohnson@vvgtruck.com
Velocity Truck Center

I contacted him through email. I sent a couple of follow up emails before he responded. He said he found my emails in his junk folder. So I would email him but follow up with a phone call.

When my AC went out I was told by Freightliner that it was a Newmar component. So AC is not cover. Well the front part isn’t coverdon’t know about the compressor in back.

Correct there are components, such as thermostats, fans that were installed by Newmar that are not covered. A/C compressor, dryer, condenser are covered.

I agree and I don't pay for extended warranties EXCEPT in this case. The extended warranty is a Freightliner warranty, not an aftermarket or outside company. The price is also very reasonable. When I bought my Ford Raptor. Ford offered an extended warranty that allowed you to tailor it to your yearly mileage. I bought that one two.

Thank you for this thread, I didn’t realize it was easy to get this coverage. Talked to Chris today and decided to move forward with 7 years of coverage.

Normally I don’t purchase extended warranties but this one seems great if I were to have any issues.

Your welcome. Not sure why this extended coverage is not offered by selling dealers, or not mine anyway. I have asked Freightliner in Gaffney, Tampa RV Super Show and at FMCA rallies and never could get a direct answer as to who to contact.

While we were at an AIM Rally I was visiting with a fellow attendee and he gave me a name and number. I reached out and he told me he was not writing extended coverage policy any more since 2023 Freightliner chassis were covered for 5 years 50,000 miles.

I approached an FCCC manger who was attending the rally also, he gave me Chris’s contact. When I contacted Chris he explained he was on the Freightliner Dealer Council. Freightliner decided to up their game on the extended coverage for the 2020-2021-2022 owners.

In hind sight I guess it was a good thing my dealer did offer me an extended coverage agreement or I might not have have gotten 7 years 150,000 mile extension.

I've been trying to purchase this coverage since buying our coach new in April 2022 and it seems like no one wants to take my money. The guy who used to be selling it (Tom Morgan at Warner Truck Center) never returned my phone calls or emails. I asked at my Freightliner dealer and they were no help. Then out of the blue in June I got the unsolicited sales offer from Chris Johnson and he never gets back to me. It doesn't give me confidence in the whole thing.

Freightliner FCCC extended coverage

I would try Chris again, I purchased back in June and was a very straight forward process. I contacted FCCC directly and they sent me to Chris. I did connect with him via email first.

it was straightforward for me too. I spoke directly to FCCC and they gave me an email connection. I got the info, decided on the policy time frames I wanted and purchased the warranty.

Not sure why this process was like pulling teeth for me, but when I sent an email saying, "I'm ready to buy. Please call." I received a call within 20 minutes and hammered the deal.

Just a tip for folks who purchased new Freightliner coaches in 2022. If you tried to purchase the FCCC extended warranty during your first year of ownership and like me were unsuccessful in doing so (see my previous post in this thread) and they now want to charge you a $200 late fee, push back on Chris Johnson and plead your case. He was unable to waive the $200 fee (it's an FCCC charge) but he deducted $200 from the selling price of the extended warranty to compensate me for my trouble.
