Well... this was way more expensive then I realized... and it's a very different looking part, hopefully for the better despite that wonderful made in china sticker. Will try and get it installed here in the next week or so.

Make sure they sent you the correct part. Does it look similar to your old one. It's different looking than mine and I only paid about $30.00.

Mine looked exactly like that and I bought it from my local Freightliner dealer and it was $65.

I was talking to my dealer the other day and we were discussing cost vs Newmar pricing. Newmar typically marks up the parts from 2-3 times what they pay. They seem to mark the cheaper parts up by 3 times and the more expensive by 2 times.

Didn't know this was a Freightliner part. Lease I saved my bacon on the door arm that was almost double the cost from Newmar by getting it from the manufacture. It's here now, so will compare it to the old one and look at getting it installed here soon. Also need to find that a/c compound you're talking about. Guessing it's a putty...?

You don't need to buy any, just squeeze the old stuff with your fingers around the probe.

Wanted to post a final update....

Installed the part a week or so ago, and have moved the coach at least 5 times or more and had cold A/C every time! I'm confident that was the fix and happy to not have to worry about A/C not working when I fire up the coach.

Posting a picture of the new unit, it didn't line up exactly with the old one, but one screw was plenty to hold it. I did buy a pack of the duct seal stuff, was dirt cheap for a lb of it.

Thanks everyone for the help here, really appreciate it.

I’m glad it worked out for you and thanks for the report back.
