Fresh Water Sanitize

I know this has been discussed before but please help me with how do I get sanitizer into fresh water tank?? Funnel into hose prior to filling or???

One easy method is to use a garden hose chemical sprayer attachment, something similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/Seaworks-Flus...%2C299&sr=8-27

I use this (https://proaquawater.com/products/pr...iment-chlorine) as a pre-filter for my fresh water system. It also works well for a portable water softener regeneration. When I need to sanitize my fresh water system, I use it to inject the chlorine through the water hose into the fresh water tank.

If you have a whole-house water filter, just unscrew the filter canister, dump the water and filter, add the bleach called for your size tank, then put the canister back onto the housing. Add water and stir (or let sit overnight).


No filter? Use the winterizing uptake hose to suck it into your water system.


Both methods and amount of bleach to use to sanitize should be in your owner's manual.

Since I use a pair of hoses that I keep coiled in a storage bay for fresh water, I pour the bleach down the hose using a measuring cup. This way, the hose, filter, etc are all sanitized as I go through the process. We are not full timers, so the RV sits for a while between trips. I sanitize before every trip to avoid problems. I also have a UV filter under the sink for drinking water.
