Fresh Water Siphoning Problem

If anyone is interested in making a modification to stop this from happening, and you're going to be at the Tampa Super show, PM me. -Paul

Did the mod yesterday and now have enough extra hose to do another.

Getting the pegboard off and back on was a pain in the butt. I don't know why they had to build it so tight to the opening. There should be 1/4'" of clearance per side - My Coach had none. -Paul

Are you talking about the fresh water tank dumping water when decending a hill or sharp corner, I noticed mine does that?

If so what is the mod, Care to Share

This was my solution. I also added a gravity fill while the area was opened up.

What I did was to go to a local marine store. They will have an anti-siphon loop, as they are used all the time in sail boats to prevent sea water from siphoning into the galley sinks when they are below the water level.
Install the anti siphon loop in the vent line that Newmar installs on the tank, and problem solved.

Drill a 1/16" hole in top of overflow........anti-siphon effect.
No extra hoses/plumbing required

What is the Hose inside diameter, or what size loop fits.

I tried that first. Still had a siphoning problem. I ended up raising the loop and then drilling the 1/16" hole and that finally stopped it.

Here's what we used:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

We used about 5 1/2 feet.

If the loop is high enough the water will never get to the top to create a siphon. Water must be falling to create a siphon. Raised the hose up at least 18 in or more and no hole have had no loss of water.

If the cause is not a siphon the higher loop will stop the overflow spillage/sloping of the water. If the water slops over the 18” loop slow down......
