Frig on Electric or LP Gas

Hello All

Need some of your knowledge, cause I can't find how the Frigidaire works in our 2015 CS 3610. I've gone through the info in the original package the PO gave me. No help. Can someone help me understand how the refrigerator changed from electric to LP gas.

On our 2014 Ventana LE, you cycled through the "Mode" button on the door. IIRC, the modes were AC, LP, AU and OFF. AU was "auto" and switched automatically from electric (AC) operation to propane (LP) when the power was interrupted.

We are all-electric now and the refrigerator is on a circuit supplied through the inverter.

I may be wrong but I don't think your Frigidaire is made to run on propane. I think it is a "residential type" and only uses 110. Get the part number and serial number and do a search.

Hi D.D Travels,
Looks like your refridgerator is all electric. This was an option on the 2015 CS. The brochure reads "Frigidaire® 10 Cf. Refrigerator with Dedicated 1000 Watt Pure Sine Inverter and Two Extra Batteries". You should have two inverters and extra batteries.

Apologies all for my slow reply. We were visiting with family yesterday & had limited service in the Smokie Mtns today as we head for CA. That's another story.

Thank you GaryKD for your reply. I just had a chance to review the original info as we stopped in Crossville, TN tonight. You are spot on sir. I have 2 inverters and 4 batteries. Two of which are for the frig. We have only owned the MH for a month. The original owner told me the frig was elec/LP. I took him at his word. But when I couldn't find any controls to operate the frig is when I questioned the operation. I have a PROwatt SW 1000. It appears it may be dedicated to the Frigidaire.

Please permit me additional questions on same subject. Now that I know my frig is all electric with a dedicated inverter.
1.How does the system work?
2.Am I correct in my understanding that the PROwatt is used when we are traveling & not on shore power or gen power?
3.Is the PROwatt to be always on?

A ProWatt inverter does NOT have a pass thru, transfer switch. That means shore power will not pass thru it to power the fridge, while plugged in.

There may be a seperate " inverter transfer switch " that passes the shore power to the fridge when plugged in.

To find out what you have, plug in the RV, make sure the fridge is powered ( open the door to see the light ) and then turn off the inverter.

If the light stays on, there is a ATS ( automatic transfer switch ), plugged into the inverter outlet, that passes the power past the inverter.

If the light goes out, when you shut down the inverter, the fridge only runs on the inverter.

That's not a problem because the charger is always running when on shore power so the batteries are not being run down.

I tested the PROwatt this morning. The frig operates on shore power with the PROwatt on or off. I turned the PROwatt on after disconnecting shore power. No light. Frig operates on shore power or gen power. But will not operate on PROwatt power. The PROwatt lights up, little green light comes on. But no power to frig. I have no point of reference on this issue. Any more help is greatly appreciated.......David

First thing to check is the inverter - while not connected to shore power and while the inverter is on (light shows green) test the outputs on the inverter. Either use an electrical tester or any other light or something to plug into the inverter as it has 2 110v outlets on it.

The inverter is located in one of the bays and the plug that goes into it should be for the refrigerator and that's what to test next.

Stopped today in Seminole, OK on our way to California.

Just checked the PROwatt again. It was on, green light illuminated and showing 13.7 battery. Plugged a small appliance into the available outlet, dead. Tried the reset button several times with no success. It was tripped and would not reset. I was about to cry uncle. I tried one last time with the end of the baggage key. Voila! it reset. Plugged in the small appliance again and it worked. The real test is tomorrow when we continue our trip.

The PROwatt and auto transfer worked as designed today. Frig operation was on all through travel today without the gen.
