Frigidare Microwave - Round 2

We had the Frigidare Microwave ( recall ), replaced last March. Newmar shipped out a new one to remedy defective keypad issue.
Yesterday, wife was cooking dinner - microwave kicked breaker off. I reset and she finished what she was cooking - maybe 3 minutes. She commented that she could smell that " hot electrical " smell. I had a look, and touched the stainless steel vent cover on top - burnt my fingers it was so hot !. Same with the interior surfaces - extremely hot. I tripped the breaker, and set up a cooling fan - took almost 30 minutes to get things cool. I removed the top vent cover - magnetron cover was still pretty warm.
Called Newmar. They set up a conference call with Frigidare. They will sent a tech out to our location to confirm problem, and determine course of action. I hope we don't get a run-a round from Frigidare. We are on the road and scheduling fixes is always a problem.
Murphys Law: We just left Newmar plant after a couple of days getting misc. items fixed. Newmar staff was great, and even completed a few items not on our list.

I know it's not what you want to here, but I just removed mine and replaced it with a Sharp that worked great in our Monaco. I just didn't trust it. Even though mine seemed to be heating okay, it steemed up the glass door every time we used it. It would take 30 + minutes to clear.

britcon ... after several unsuccessful "house calls" from the local appliance repair people that Frigidaire sent, I finally called Newmar and said enoughs enough ... please send me a new replacement one (and not a Frigidaire). Then a brand new GE showed up at my house a few days later courtesy of Newmar ... I installed it and life has been good ever since.

I did almost the same as FLSteve... dealer put in 3 different Frigidaire units that failed. I contacted Newmar and they sent a GE one to the dealer for installation. That one has worked fine for about a year now.

Based on a few other posts I have read along the way, not holding out much hope for the frigidare service guy, but we need to play by the rules I guess. We are headed south over the next few weeks and coordinating replacement is going to be a real pain ! Meantime we have no oven or exhaust fan over the stovetop. Perhaps Frigidare will pick up my restaurant tab ?

They replaced mine twice and then finally said they would send me a check for their cost of it, about $269 if i remember correctly and said to go buy what I wanted and have a dealer install it. I did and have been happy ever since.

I would think after all this trouble with Frigidaire Newmar will stick with the GE's, I have a micro/convection and has never given us a problem, it cooks like a oven.
