Front air bags loosing air

We have an 05 DSDP and recently noticed that our front air pressure needs more air after just a lunch/shopping stop. No problem with the rear air bags. Is this something for which I should be concerned? They seem to hold the air just fine while traveling. Any advice on how to check out the problem before taking it to a Spartan shop?

I had a similar problem on my coach. Turned out one of the front air bags had a leak in it. The engine compressor can normally keep up with a small amount of air loss. Luckily they are not expensive to replace.

We just noticed the same thing on our 2005 DSDP (4023) after a 5,000 mile trip. It was sitting in the driveway while we were unloading, and the next morning the front was completely down. We were taking ours to the dealer for some minor things anyway, and they are now a Spartan Shop, so I should be able to let you know what it was in a day or two.

Thanks! Let me know how it works out for you. We're fairly "stationary" right now and don't have a great or fast need to repair it. I'd love to hear what they tell you and how much it cost. I do have an extended warranty if it's over $100 - which I don't know of ANY repair on a motor home that's not over $100!

We have a 2005 4009 / Spartan, and had the same problem.
The Newmar factory labeled it as "Normal".
Our dealer's ace mechanic, David of Dick Gore in Jacksonville, found the "Air Dump Shuttle Valve" as defective, replaced it for 0.5 hours of labor and the part was $59.75.
The coach stays aired up now.....

Maybe "not unusual" would be a better description.

IMHO, it's not "normal".

Going to Jax, FL soon and called Dick Gore RV. The service rep said they couldn't help me since it's a Spartan issue and gave me the Cummins South folks. I think he thought I was asking about a warranty issue, but just want it fixed. Just wondering if Field Trip had any issues like that at Dick Gore?

Indeed they refer the warranty work to Cummins not far from them.

My work was out of warranty and they agreed to look at it.

Call and speak with Donna....

PM me and I'll give you more if you need it...

Just a brief update, my MH has been at the dealer for the last 10 days and the suspension has held up for the whole time. It seems to be one of those things that doesn't work until you take it to the dealer. They will have a couple of days after moving it tomorrow to see if it does what I claimed again, otherwise we'll just wait until it does it on a more regular frequency.
