Front cabinet lighting

2021 DS. In the compartment over the drivers seat Newmar has backlit the panel so at night you have to use a flashlight to see the controls ! I asked my dealer and they agree its not very productive and when I looked at a 23 it's the same. Thinking about pulling off the led strip and relocating. Anyone else bothered by this ?

Mine was burned out, so I installed a LED strip, but instead of up flat in the ceiling of the compartment, I put it on the top of the door so it is shining in from the angle of the door when its opened. Much better.

It IS annoying for sure! I’m going to follow this thread to see if someone has come up with an elegant solution, as opposed to a stick on LED on the back of the cabinet door ( which is what I’ve done).

I removed the light that Newmar installed and put an LED strip with a push button switch on one end on the back side of the door. When you open the door, the light can shine directly on the panel. You can also install a push button switch so that it comes on automatically.

Great idea Don, went to "The Company Store" ( Amazon ) and ordered the LED strips with switches. Should install this week.

Front Cabinet Lighting

Is this a 120v or 12v circuit for the existing cabinet light?

Love this .... can't tell you how many times I have had to use the light on my phone to see these switches at night. The stock light placement is actually causing the switches to be harder to see.
