Front roof drain plugging solutions that have work?

Hi,

The roof drains have had a few threads but Iím looking for what has really worked over time. I have a 2019 DS and the drains come straight down. The plugging is over the flat plate on top. I have tried a few of the past mentioned solutions but in the spring or fall with pollen etc still plugs off. Help

I don't thing you are going to find something that works all the time. On our 18 LA we put HD screen in the half shape of a tennis ball over the 4 opening and it helps keep them open. What do do is compressed air from the coach both front and rear to blow up the tubes so it is quick. Also use our air fitting and a hose to fill our tires so we don't care a air compressor.

The tubes are not getting plugged the opening is getting covered over. What is an HD screen? What did you make it with. Did you take out the original plate with the holes?

I removed the metal plate with holes over the drain, made sure there is still caulking around where I removed it and put this in its place, not tied down, just bundled itself into the cup. Actually they don't go straight down, you'll find that out if you remove the metal plate.

Thanks new idea. I as going to try the plastic spongy in the hole. This idea looks more rugged and easy to clean if need be. Did you use the full size?

Would a 4x4 work better or worse?

I used the entire piece the way it came. Has a good enough weight to not fly out. It was sort of an accident the way it happened, I wanted to drill larger holes within the original plate and attach a plastic scrub pad to it with a zip tie. But when I tried to drill the first hole the entire plate came loose since it was weak and rusted. So my plan B went into effect and is still in effect.

I had some of this product left over from my home rain gutters. I cut rectangular pieces to fit the drains and secured them with silicone caulk.
