Front Tire Pressure in Front tires

I just had Tyron Bands installed along with a Tire Minder installed on my 2015 Newmar DSDP.
After installation had it weighed to set tire pressure
Both front corners we approx right at 8000lbs
NIRV in Atlanta checked with Newmar and they recommended 130 PSI in the front tires.
I checked the Michelin weight and air pressure chart and at 8240lbs they recommend 120psi.
Any thoughts as to why Newmar would recommend something different than the tire manufacture?

Just my opinion here, for what it's worth,
Newmar would err on the side of caution toward the maximum weight. If this were mine, I would go with the the manufactures chart. Having said that, the only problem you might encounter with the higher pressure might be a sharper ride but either way, you're safe.

You might start at 130 and see how it feels then work your way down to 120 to get a feel for the lower pressure.

When I picked mine up at the factory they had 130 in all tires. If I had that ride I wouldn't have bought it.

Remember, 20% increase when driving is normal so you'll be riding on tires with 156 pounds of pressure in them. Might as well have covered wagon wheels.

The factory gives you the max tire pressure. Now you have the actual weight you adjust accordingly. So 120 is the correct pressure for your setup.

He's closer to 7920 than 8270 so I'd say 115

Maybe. But the rule is you go up to the next higher weight, not the closest.

More muddy water to deal with: My 2016 4369 DSDP carries 120 in the front and 85 in all of the back 6 tires. The label inside the coach says 130psi in the front and 85 in all tires in the back. Called Newmar and they told me that 95% of all the people they talk to with similar coaches run 120 and 85

It's only muddy if you haven't had your wheels weighed individually and adjusted the pressures according to the Michelin chart. But the reality is that all coaches are going to be very similar and end up with the pressures the factory told you. I have slightly smaller tires and my pressures are lower than yours but close to what other Ventana owners are using.

"What happens if you inflate your tires to the max PSI?

The handling characteristics change
Since tires inflated to the max can’t give as much on the sidewall, you might see superior cornering, but it could be at the risk of your braking threshold. One quick corner and your back end could slide out.
The life of your tire decreases. When your tires are inflated too much, the rubber rounds out at the top of the tire when you’re driving, and the center will quickly wear out. You’ll also reduce your traction and you could even cause a blowout."

I would never, ever, worry about to much air in the tires. Not enough air is where most problems will occur. I run 120 all around, at that pressure I know I have nothing to worry about. Playing with softer tires, is asking for a nasty surprise.

Check the Michelin chart. At 115psi the MAX weight supported is 7920 lbs. At 120psi the MAX weight supported is 8270 lbs. 8000 lbs is more than 7920 but less than 8270.
