There is no "correct" answer to your question.
If you only get clean fuel, store it properly (biocide and full fuel tank) your fuel filters will last a very long time.
One tank of bad fuel or poor storage can clog several sets of filters.
If you have the clear bowl primary fuel filter, visually check it next stop after filling. That will give you a pretty good indication if there is water, dirt or algae in the fuel.
If all you have is a drain on the primary fuel filter, occasionally drain a little into a glass jar and check it for contamination-- dirt, water and algae are heavier than diesel and will settle in the bottom of the fuel filter.
But with your engine, if filters are clogged/restricting fuel flow, it can lead to expensive fuel system repairs. Suggest erring on the side of over-servicing rather than under.
