My coach is a side radiator on an XCR chassis. The two fuel filters, are located at the back of the engine and can be seen/changed through the rear doors. Since yours is a side radiator, I'm only guessing that you'll have to lay under the coach and look for them.

The filter you found up near the generator is for your Oasis Hydronic Heating. If you order a service kit from Oasis, they include that filter, an igniter and air filter for your Oasis. That service is very easy and there are YouTube videos on it.

Some have had issues with the fuel continuing to run when changing their filters. Try dumping your air and lifting the rear of the coach with the jacks before changing the filters. Also, prefill the filters by blocking the center hole and pouring diesel around the outer edges. On mine, there is a pump on the primary filter to fill it. I do both.

I always change the primary, fill it and then start the coach. Once it starts and runs, I change the secondary. Once done, cycle the key to "ON" 3-4 times for 10 seconds and then start the coach.

Ken --

I'm confused by your post -- 2016 Ventana 3709 on a 2017 Freightliner XCR chassis? A 2016 model Ventana would have been manufactured using a 2015 chassis. You stated that you have a 360 HP Cummins engine which, per the sales brochure, is the 6.7L ISB engine I have in my Ventana LE. The fuel filter and the filter/water separator for my coach are mounted on the passenger side of the engine. I can't imagine having the filter/water separator near the generator as you describe.

Per Cummins, engine oil & filter and all fuel filters should be changed annually which is what I do --> https://www.cummins.com/engines/b67-...20RV%20Engines

The filters used on my ISB engine (and most likely your engine) are:

Fuel filter/water separator: Alliance R50419 --> https://www.finditparts.com/products...dium=affiliate

Fuel Filter: Fleetguard FF63009 --> https://www.amazon.com/Fleetguard-Cu...99561185&psc=1

As a point of reference, the 2016 Ventana and Ventana LE models are fundamentally the same coach and share common parts e.g. front and end caps are the same. The difference between the Ventana and Ventane LE are the amenities / finishes inside the Ventana are "higher end" than the Ventana LE. For reference this is the link to the 2016 Ventana sales brochure --> https://library.rvusa.com/brochure/N...a_Brochure.pdf

Hope this info is useful !

Others have provided info on engine fuel filters and location. I suspect the fuel /water separator that is in the generator bay is the fuel filter for the OASIS Hydronic heater. A basic screw on filter is standard for the OASIS in that location so I'm thinking someone replaced the standard filter with the filter/ water separator which will work fine as long as the filter particulate specification is the same or better than the standard OASIS filter.

Ventana fuel filter

Licensed as 2016 Ventana on 2017 XCR Custom chassis as verified by Vin# by Freightliner and Newmar. It has a rear radiator and there is a water seperator/ filter mounted up front near the generator. It was suggested that it could be for the Oasis system. It is located near the middle of the coach. could it be for the gen and the oasis system? Did not see any filters under the engine opening. Will look more this afternoon. Is there more than one engine filter?

Ventana fuel filter

fagnaml, my chassis is 2 years newer than yours so probably has many upgrades. Totally different dash. Still have not found filters.

Do you have an Oasis hydronic water heater/furnace or does your coach use propane for hating water. If you use propane, than that filter up front is for engine fuel. Looking at older threads, they talk about a second filter along the frame rail in front of the rear duals.

I asked Freightliner about this at International. On the Ventana the filter is located between the rail in front of the engine near the drive tires.

There is a fuel filter in the front, hat is for the Oasis.

The generator fuel filter is inside the enclosure. The one next to the generator is the Oasis. The stock ITR filter is by Gar-Bar and white in color.

Don't know if this thread is still active, but I am more than confused. 2019 Ventana in the FL XCR chassis, 6.7L Cummins. I have had two oil changes and each one only shows ONE fuel filter being changed. Other than the location (I assume I can crawl around under there and find it), what is contained in the FF63009 filter? I looks like a spin-on housing with perhaps a paper element filter inside. I assume the housing doesn't need replacing-only the element?

But I always thought there would be TWO fuel filters, like I had in my other Cummins engines-an ISM and ISX. So...how many fuel filters are there and what is the other one, if any?

Fuel filters

On my 17 Ventana there are two fuel filter primary and secondary water fuel separtor right next to one another on passenger side behind tag axle. The front filter is for the oasis system.

Thanks, that helps to know there really are TWO engine fuel filters, although the primary is a water/fuel separator. Looks like the water sep. unit is an old Detroit diesel filter...probably one that has been used on diesels for many years? Glad to know they are in one location. And yes, the Oasis fuel filter is up front, next to the generator.

That shows a lot...thanks. Last night I ordered a secondary filter, part # 63009 along with this one...a DDR61709. Last year both these filters were put onto my old 2018 Ventana with the same motor. So the yellow one in your photo doesn't look like this DD element filter-I know that water bowl at the bottom screws onto the upper portion on your unit. Am I missing something here? Did I order the wrong one?
