You're right, this thread is about fuel economy. If you run at 75 MPH, your fuel economy is going to be affected, and not in a good way.
To your second point, check out Post #52.......-Paul

The only way it should be off is if the Speedo calibration is due to oversize tires, or you are burning fuel with your Oasis and or generator.
The computer reports actual engine fuel delivered from the ECM to the dash then calculated over a mile.
Another possibility is aftermarket power boxes will add additional fuel for more power after the ECM sends its signal then they dash will read high.

Well Rob, acutely in post #52 Jcprice4 said "I confess to driving faster than I should, especially out west with those 80 mph speed limits."
My post was for safety reasons that Mr-Ted did not seam to understand. Providing information about safety and safe operation of your RV would seam to be a top priority don't you think. Just so you know Rob the speed rating is not a opinion but cast into the sidewall of your tire.

I do appreciate people’s concern for safety. My 22.5” tires are rated to 81 mph. Why would someone automatically assume they’re rated to 75mph? Or improperly inflated or overloaded or improperly maintained or old? And my tires are not going to suddenly explode if I accidentally go 81 mph LOL.
I get really tired of people being chastised on here for running 75 to 80 mph in their rigs out in open country on flat straight roads with almost 0 traffic.
Every thread involving fuel mileage ends up being a debate over safe highway speeds. Stick to the subject..... Which also has been beat to death lol.

Just curious what make tire do you have? Can you post what the speed rating is on the side of the tire? I want to find some higher speed rated tires they might get better mileage. See it is still about mileage. .

Sounds like you’re running a Pogue carburetor.

3 yrs.ago we went 6000 miles trip averaged 9.1 @ 70 mpg. calif. to wisconsin and back. this year 6500 miles same basic trip little different route and we got 8.5. A little disappointing , i thought more miles on the diesel better mileage. we have a 2015 Allegro 37P model.

Just Asked for Mileage
I just asked for fuel mileage as I was planning a cross country trip in a new motorhome.
I would never ever want to see anyone get hurt on the road, but truth be known unless you're blowing by me with tires falling to pieces or in front of me heading east to west and I'm headed north or south, I could care less how fast you drive you're own motor home. I hope at this point in life I never care how long it takes to get to my destination. I spent way to long doing that. I'm only concerned about how much money it's going to take getting there. I really do appreciate all to comments and no matter what be safe and be respectful to others and the day will usually end well.
