Fuel splashes out of passenger side fuel fill
I have a 2019 Mountain Aire.
After I fill the diesel tank invariably when I get to next destination, fuel has splashed out the passenger side diesel fill point onto the side of the coach.
Cap is tight.
Today I purposely left tank about 10/15 gallons under full and it still happened.
Anyone else having that problem
Thanks

Never heard about this problem.
I would switch fuel caps and see if the problem transfers to the driver side. If so, new cap.
Otherwise the fill is somehow deformed. I would clean the fill surface with alcohol and then spread silicone sealer to try to get a new surface. Lay down the silicone and then place some saran wrap over the seal and then place the cap on gently. After a day, remove the wrap and then let it cure without the cap.
No guarantees and good luck.

Our rig has the same affliction! Both fill hoses to the tank are virtually flat from the filler to the top of the tank. I haven't taken the time to analyze the problem.

Dave,
Heck to make sure that your fuel cap does not “bottom out” against the body. We had a similar issue where the fuel leaked out. We also had trouble backing the fuel cap off. We found that the caulk used around the filler tube was not allowing the cap to properly seal. They removed the caulk allowing the cap to seal and we haven’t had the issue since

I had the same problem with our 2019 Dutchstar 3717. I also corrected it by scraping the caulking off until I got a uniform fit for the cap.

I had the same problem. Bought 2 locking fuel caps, solved the problem.

We had the same problem with our Discovery and thought the cap was the problem so we replaced it. That didn't work so we took the gasket out the old and doubled them in the new cap. Made hard to get on but feul didn't leak anymore.

Yes both of mine leak with full tank, Newmar is going to replace the filler necks with longer versions so the cap doesn't bottom on the body before the seal reaches the neck.
They were suppose to do it when I was there in March at the beginning of the Scamdemic but they didn't come in on time.
I submitted a warranty request so my shop can do the work.
Ted.

Had same problem. Replaced both caps and then wrapped caps with small towel/rag to absorb what still came through. Good luck. Rag was cheap solution.
Enjoy the journey

I took a close look at the caulking around the filler spouts on both sides and it is obvious that it is VERY thick. I can see spots where the rim of the cap is contacting the caulked surface. I am sure that my trimming will solve the problem.

Not in my case it would be more like Grinding the surface back.
Ted.

I'm going to attempt to work on the caulking tomorrow. It feels like it is somewhat soft. I will start with a razor blade and then progress to a Dremel if need be.

Gary,
Newmar did mine. I'm not sure how they trimmed it from the bottom. I'll get some photos of it tomorrow and post. I haven't had a problem since.

I just trimmed the caulking around the filler spout on the passenger side. The reason the driver side doesn't have the issue is because the spout is parallel with the surface of the filler spout. The gas caps that came with my M/H are made with the rubber gasket at the same level as the rim material surface. The passenger filler spout sits at an angle to the mounting surface. The upper rim of the gas cap cannot hit the caulked surface. The lower half of the gas cap can hit the caulking. I was able to use a single edge razor blade to trim the lower area of the caulking to be below the filler spout by about 0.100 inches. It cuts like butter!
Sorry, the pictures are rotated CCW 90 degrees. The rubber bumper should be on the bottom left corner!
