Full Wall Slide rips up tile
Has anyone had their full wall slide tear up their tile? 2029 DSDP 4369.

Here is a thread from last summer that may have some useful information.

Our 2016 DSDP has done it twice. Both times we also had non-obvious HWH hydraulic parts failures.
Presumably, the FWS wasn’t completely lifted when it started forward and the rollers ripped up and cracked the tiles.

That would be a slide malfunction. [emoji51]

Newmar is saying this is not a structural issue. If it's not, I don't know what is.

With the earlier FWS, the FWS requires 12+v from the chassis batt. When extending the FWS, if the voltage drops below the 12v, the FWS 'may' not fully extend. When retracting, it 'could' run into the main floor. The fws ops typically requires a good 1.5+V.
If your chassis batt is maintaining 12+V, then it could be the settings/adjustments on the FWS not fully extending. Also, presume you know the air bags should be fully aired-up (travel mode), during extend and retract.

Well if it is a hydraulic failure as indicated above, then it would be a mechanical failure as opposed to a structural issue.

Hydraulics did not fail. The slide caught the metal L channel that the tile is set in. I'm thinking the floor heat just caused enough expansion to catch and pull up the tile.

Well, on my London Aire it was definitely a HWH failure. Certainly not structural. Structural damage maybe, but not caused by a structural failure.

Will surely be paying closer attention while bringing in our FWS.
Does anybody think it’s a bad idea to toggle the switch several times to come in slowly or just hit the button and hope all is well

Bad idea. Let the hydraulics run as intended.

You would think that Newmar could install macro limit switches to eliminate travel issues with the slide, whether or not there is a Voltage problem.

known issue. Not structural. Should have been designed with limit switches. Can't be that hard to add one.
