Full wall slide support shaft gasket

Hi all,

The gasket that helps "seal" off the basement storage where the support shafts slide into to the RV has become brittle and are crumbling. Have any of you gotten creative to replace it with something other than the standard slab of rubber Newmar used?

I have ordered new ones from Newmar twice and they never last. Have others run into this…and if so, what other solutions have you used?

Let me know.
Thanks everyone!
Rich

I would buy 1/8" rubber on Amazon. It comes in rolls in various widths and make your own.
