Full wall slide won't go down
2017 DS 4369 Haven't moved the slide for the past couple months. When I brought it in it would come all the way. Then when going back out it comes in all the way but will not drop to the flush position. It does not drop at all. Nothing between the floor and slide to hinder operation. The motor is running just no downward movement. Anyone experience this and if so any ideas where to look for a solution. I can bring it in all the way so will still be able to travel south on Monday.
Thanks
Steve

Is your room electric or hydraulic? Need to know that to tell you what to look for.

Bobby, I think it hydraulic. The other two slides are electric with the pesky slide motor mounts. HWH slides. Recently unhooked the battery cables and cleaned contacts to the chassis batteries. Everything else works engine starts etc. so I'm pretty sure everything is hooked up properly.

You have metal on the bottom of the room that makes contact on the gold sensors under the room. If you look under the room around the square tube, you can see them. If they don’t see them, it doesn’t know to lower the room. Have you tried running the room with the engine running?

yes I am plugged into 50 amp shore power and ran it up so it would air up. Also ran the room in and out with the engine at 1000rpm.
bobby thanks for your help. I am going to go out and look for those contacts.

Bobby, I figured it out! When I brought the slide out in today for the 1st time I did not retract it all the way. I had left it about 4" from fully retracted. Then when I put it back out that sensor was never tripped to know the slide out was retracted. I just brought it all the way in and now it seats down where it should.
Thanks for the heads up on the sensor and how that works, that's how I figured this out. Good to know.
Hopefully this will help someone else that does the same thing I did and the will see this post.

Newmar does some nice stuff and some crappy stuff. When I added a water softener, I ran tubing from the wet bay, through the power cord bay roof, to the main storage bay. I found that sensor (rod looking thing in your photo) at the top of the power cord bay, under a black cover. It was about to fall off, two self-tapping screws into wood, not the best choice of fasteners.
