FWS creep when stored

We had our 17 Dutch Star 4310 in for its 1 year service to take care of a few very minor warranty issues. One of them being our FWS crept out about 3-4 inches when parked & slides in. Well of course once getting home & parking (we store it next to our house w 50 amp) it has crept out again. Any thoughts other than me possibly taking it to factory over summer to have looked at? When it was in for service they said they topped off the hydraulic fluid (was a little low) & ran system in and out multiple times to clear any air (per HWH advise).

Thanks!

The FWS is driven by hydraulics. There are two solenoids that direct pressure to open or close the slide. If one of the solenoids is leaking by, it will release the oil pressure and allow the slide to move..it must be a small slow leak.

I had a similar problem, FWS would creep out 2 to 3 inches. The fix for our unit was replacing the retractor valve. The valve was leaking and wasn't holding the slide in, allowing the slide to creep out. Since replacing the valve, no more FWS creep. This is an easy fix. Any dealer or mechanically inclined individual could remove and replace. I happened to be at Newmar for other items to be worked and they replaced mine while there. Good luck.....

Our slide was drifting after the dealer fixed a small hydraulic leak. We believe they got air in the lines when they changed the fitting. Newmar had me operate the small levers on the end of the cylinder in the basement. This helped in our case at least so we could drive without the slide drifting. Later Newmar changed the sync cylinder and we haven't had a problem since.
