FWS noise while driving...

I hear noise from the full wall slide while driving. It has the locking device at the top, I don't know if this is just the seal I'm hearing or if the FWS is not adjusted properly and is slightly loose. Sometimes when retracting the slide there is a metallic pop noise but it appears to extend and retract fine. The reveal looks good, gap is fine and the slide appears fully retracted.

Am I over analyzing and is this normal or should I dare take this to my dealer to touch? I have an appointment in June for the end of my 1 year at Newmar but I don't have any other issues as I just went to Newmar to clear the list. I noticed this on the way home from Newmar but nothing was touched on the FWS slide while there.

Do you hear any noise from the FWS or possibly the seal while driving?

FWS noise

We do have intermittent annoying "jiggles" and "Squeaks" from time to time. I have tried baby powder, a variety of spray lubricants, and occasional stops to slightly extend and then retract the slide. Each of these solutions seems to work for a time. I haven't been able to definitively identify a cause/solution. DW is not comfortable driving which would enable me to do some trouble shooting while under way. The noises come and go, maybe influenced by speed, road condition, tire condition/inflation, rain. Even more concerning to me is the popping noises you mentioned during retracting the slide. DW and I say a quick prayer when bringing in the slides prior to departure. It must be working as we've not had any consequential slide issues - just anxiety.

Hi Neal,

We have a 2015 Dutch Star 4018. We had the same issue as you are talking about with our full wall side and I didn't want to take it to the dealer. I started looking at the attach nuts on the full wall slide at the connect arms. I think the attach nuts are somewhere between 3/4 to 1 1/2 inch socket size, and I think there are 4 of them, (it's been about 8 months since I did this). Anyway, I found that I could get about 1/4 to 1/2 turn on each nut. In our case, when I was finished, and the wife and I took a trip, to me, it seemed to quiet the noises from the slide. The wife noticed it, so there must have been a change! For what it's worth (FWIT), worked for us!

I am adding this to my yearly maintenance check.
