Does anyone know the wait at Gaffney for drive in’s? They would not take an appointment because of volume but said if you drive in and go on standby they may be able to get to in two days. Thanks for your help. John

The information you received is as good as it gets. Your wait time is dependent on how long it takes them to service appointments and if all the appointments show. I have seen the standby list as long as five coaches. I always make an appointment months in advance when I know I need to go for service.

Thanks, I tried in January but was told to just show up. Guess I need to go earlier!

Yes, appointments at Gaffney as well as in Nappanee are 5-6 months booked in advance.

Remember this is also the timema y are heading north from FL and I’m sure they are very busy. If you can wait a month or two they may be able to get you right in or you may be able to make an appointment for June/ July?

No, fan, not afaik. The service facility there in Gaffney is directly owned and operated by Freightliner Custom Chassis. They generally specialize in motor homes, and also conduct a variety of training events there. All other Freightliner shops nationwide are franchises.

3 years ago, on our way home from Florida in our new Ventana, the suspension developed an air leak. I called Gaffney late Friday afternoon, and although they were booked solid I was told to come in Monday morning. At 9am Monday all the service appointments were taken inside and we waited. At 11am they took us in and by 3pm it was all fixed.
Maybe we were treated with priority as we had a warranty issue, but I think they usually have some slack in their scheduling to cover problems like this.

I went to Gaffney last Sunday an was 2nd on the standby list Monday AM. Appointments went in a 8:30 and my coach went in at 10 am. I stayed the night Monday night and hit the road Tuesday am. Great place and people. I made an appointment for same time next year. Highly recommend this facility.

Up here at Spartan Factory, they are taking appointments for next year. Currently booked five - six months out.

I used to take my 2012 Ventana to Gaffney every year and was very impressed each time with the work they performed. Always showed up the day before my appointment and spent the night in the parking lot. Went out for dinner and visited sites around Gaffney while they worked on the coach the next day. Did the factory tour of Freightliner one year which was well worth the time. Great people, great service. PS I always made my appointments each year I was there for the next year.

Hopefully when the new service facility opens in Nappanee the waits will be shorter. Let's hope the new mechanics Newmar hires for the expanded shop will be highly trained.

I tried to get an appointment in Gaffney for April 1st next year. It is already booked for that day. We were able to get an appointment for April 2nd.

Yep, they are like Newmar.

I went to book a January appointment in April and the day I wanted was already booked-nine months in advance.

Is Pat still there?
