Garmin 890 vs 1090
I know that this debate has been had before but I am getting ready to hit the buy now button and just don't want buyers remorse. I like the screen size of the 1090 but is it too big for proper use and placement in my 21 DS? If you have anything else to add or recommendations, please feel free to give your input. BTW, there is a $100 price drop available now on the 1090.

I have the 1090 and its a perfect size. Easy to read and does not block or interfere with anything. I have had it since it was released and am very happy with it

I selected the 890 when I started having trouble reading my old 770 at a glance (old eyes). Thought about the big one but thought it was just too darn big. I am very happy with the 890. Not too big and not too small.

I clicked the buy now on the 1090 based on what Winger2 said. I want the larger one if it does not interfere with vision.

I just upgraded from a RV 770 to a RV 890 & an very happy with it. I bought both off Craigslist like new at a lot less than retail! Also came across a Dezl 780 on Craigslist for $50.00 & couldn't pass it up...the previous owner thought it was broke because it kept rebooting itself every 5 mins. so I took it as it was in mint condition with all the factory stuff...all it needed was a software upgrade & I put in my gals car. What a steal!!

I use the 1090, it’s perfect. Used the suction cup supplied with kit, attached to side window so I have clear view of mirror and does not block windshield. Make sure it is attached to hi output usb. The low output will not provide enough juice. Run it with the RM, wife run Waze for road debris and other random stuff ahead.

Cleaner install, hated the wiring all over the place and prefer the 1090 on the right as I am right handed.

We had a 780 and liked it. We upgraded to the 1090 and love it. With the larger screen you get more onscreen options for whatever information you feel is important.
When we bought the 780 we bought some 3M discs off Amazon for it but found out they were not quite big enough for the 1090 base. Went back to Amazon and found larger ones.

Yes. I like the cleaner install having the ports over on the left. Stopped by the RV to do battery maintenance and got a picture.

Got my 1090 yesterday. What a nice GPS and very easy to set up, navigate the menus and use. The RV manufacturers should be ashamed of themselves with the crap they install in our rigs-either put something in that's decent or not at all. Anyhow, thanks for the help in affirming my decision.
