GE Advantium Clock

Our 2014 Dutch Star Advantium clock would stay on all the time. Our 2017 Dutch Star Advantium clock goes off after 30 seconds. After doing some research, the government in all it's wisdom made companies turn the clock off after 30 seconds. According to GE's website, this cannot be overridden. Well, if you don't need the light, there is a work around! The clockis will stay illuminated as long as the light is on. Take out the bulb, turn on the surface light, go to settings and press the dial through the clock settings, and viola! Now a clock you can use allthe the time!

Excellent Hack!!!! I wondered how long it would take for someone to figure out how to hack Al Gore's clock. An added thought, why not add an on/off push button switch under the unit for the light when you need it.

Great find! I have been beating my head against the wall because of the clock. I thought why would someone design it this way. Since our government is involved it all makes sense.

I have discovered a small glitch. Once the microwave is used, the clock turns off again. It's a small matter of going through the clock settings again.
