Gen hours displayed on LBCU?

Had our generator control board replaced after just a couple of uses. Noticed today that the generator hours do not show in the LBCU when the gen is running. Since we only used it a couple of times I don't recall if the gen hours were displayed in the LBCU previously or not. Pretty sure they were. Would appreciate anyone with a 2017 Ventana 3709 to check theirs & let me know if the gen hours are displayed when running.

I know on earlier years, the hours are not updated on the display.... someone posted a while back how to hook the gen timer feed to the LBCU

I don't think it pops up...if you want the display - I think you have to choose one of the nine fields, and toggle the Gen time into one of them.

I know it's one of the displays you can choose,,,I haven't tried it to see if it actually works. I plan on substituting it for our next trip...as we'll be using generator more than we normally do..,and I'd like to track it...but too lazy to open he bonnet repeatedly. Although I probably will to wash bugs off the front...using the hot water bib.

How about posting actual experience with the Gen Hours or pasting the actual posts that refer to his question?

Okay...I just went out and set up the Gen Hrs display in my LBCU.

Nope! Not connected. Shows 0.0 hrs...and stays that way with generator running.

What a shame...I would have loved to have that info handy.

If you want to change one of the display values...here are ways to go about it.

With the LBCU displayed...toggle up or down to the cell you wish to change. While it is still displayed in reverse video...toggle the knob to the right. This will cycle thru all the different values within the same category.

What if you want a different category?

With the LBCU displayed...toggle up or down to highlight a cell you wish to change. Long hold the toggle to the right...a menu of categories will pop up. Toggle up or down to select the new category...then toggle to set.

Once it is set...while the info is still displayed in reverse video...you can toggle right to go thru the different choices within that category.

I sure wish I had better news about the generator run time display. Don't know why Newmar didn't hook it into the Freightliner dash. I guess it won't track maintenance values for the generator either. Oh well...

BTW...I tried to find a how to...on wiring the generator run sense to the LBCU...nothing I could find. It will take some digging thru schematics...or maybe a call to FCCC techs. Someone has to know how to connect it.

On our 04 Essex with 12.5 Onan gen. set the hour meter stopped recording the hours and after check it out the meter signal for 12 volts when running wasn't coming thru the wire. After a lot of check we connected another 12 volt wire from electric fuel pump on gen. and it's back working. These is the hour meter on the outside of gen.
