Gen Slide Release T-Handle Problem

2005 Dutch Star M-4023: The hardware that holds my front gen slide-out release T-handle to the cable end fitting has been lost. I think it's an allen head cap screw, but I never saw it so I'm not sure. The size is a total mystery. This is all "thanks" to a mobile RV service that needed to pull the trim panel and was sloppy putting things back together. Rather than risk thread damage trying multiple possibilities from the hardware store, I'm looking for help finding the spec for this screw. Hopefully this handle was common over a number of years on Newmar/Spartan chassis, and somebody reading this could identify the screw for me. TY!

Here's a shot of the phillips head machine screw from my '04 MADP. Guessing your's is identical. Don't have a gauge or I'd measure the threads for you. Imperial or metric is anybody's guess.

Before you go to the hardware store spray the threads with WD40 to rinse anything out that might have accumulated in the threads. Look to be sure there's no damage to the threads. If you run the screw in with your fingers there's no way you can damage the threads.

That narrows it down. Much appreciated!
