Generation 7 DEF Heads

Has anybody had issues yet with the Generation 7 heads. I understand about from 6th on down. I have my FPU next month on the 30th and my rig has the 7th Generation on it, so I don't know whether that's a sign of relief or not. Lord, I'm hoping so though!

I am in the same boat, picking up London Aire this week and have confirmed it has gen 7. If you search really hard there are two "maybe" posts but unconfirmed. One a 22 King Aire that is rumored to have not made a show and another one.

Generally I think it is too early to know, but I am crossing all digits and hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.

Me too. I got my confirmation today about the head. I'm picking up a MA. Initially I felt relieved after I received the update, but I'm still worried about just making the 2 day trip back home to SC and I know I have to stop that worried outlook

Wish you the best with your FPU.

I firmly believe that the problem will be resolved when people stop buying coaches, OTR trucks, buses or anything else that runs with the DEF system thatís creating the problem. I would pay a premium if I could get my pre DEF pusher back.

I would say that they haven't been out long enough to know. I believe they came out in March of this year. If they aren't a correction we will likely see failures by mid Sept.

Gen 7 DEF head.

I just picked up my 2019 MADP last night from Springfield, MO Freightliner.
I ask if I was getting a gen 7 DEF head. Parts guy said he was not aware of what I was talking about.
Part #234-6080A
Any help identifying this generation will be appreciated.

FL uses a different DEF system then Spartan. Spartan uses Shaw DEF system and they have changed their DEF system a number of times and newest is Gen 7. This only applies to Spartan chassis owners not FL. That is why the tech didn't know what you were talking about.

Do we know what year models on what chassis are most prone to DEF related failures? I have a Newmar FL chassis built in 2015.

Chassis built after January 1, 2016. At that time EPA regulations dictated sensors be used to determine quality of DEF, temperature of DEF and Quantity of DEF.

I just had a new head installed today. Is there a way of telling what generation it is?

Gjos how long did it take Spartan to get your DEF head to you? My coach went down Saturday.

My coach has been down since July 7th and I'm still waiting.
