Generator crank speed error code

Is anyone familiar with what might cause a Generator crank speed error code 282? We are boondocking which we do not do a ton of and generator had been working fine running 4-5 hours a day. Now it will not crank from inside the coach but can start it at the generator itself. Thanks in advance.

My Onan 7500 the remote start is fused inside the gen set , same panel that has to be removed to get to the rad cap . 4"x 4" panel held down by a single bolt just above the start switch panel , in line fuse .

Also , if your coach batteries are low you can get a low crank speed error , is the genset set up for auto start at low voltage , or do you have that feature ?

Thanks Skip, I believe the AGS is not set up correctly. It does not engage the generator when it drops below 12.0 which seems high. I am reading up on that as I am leaning towards I drained the batteries too far down. House batteries were 11.4 when I tried starting the generator.

Just for my sanity at what level should the AGS engage to recharge the batteries. I thought I read that the danger level was in the 10.5 range. Still trying to figure out why the AGS does not engage at all.

10.5 volts in the battery bank is dead , basically no usable power available .

I don't have AGS , but believe the common setting is 12.2 volts ( 50% charge level in the battery bank )

This pdf from Newmar covers many electrical components , I don't believe AGS is one of them , but the battery section should clear things up for you .
