generator electrical issue

I have an Onan 7500 on my Mountain Aire
Today I started the generator and the coach did not accept it. I could not get the generator to run any appliances etc. The load panel stayed blank.
External power worked fine. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
By the way, initially the generator started, then stalled, wouldn't start. I waited about 20 minutes, had a rough start, then ran just fine. would not accept a load though.

You need to check the Gen ground cable to chassis frame for a good clean tight connection.
You may have circuit breakers that need to be reset on Gen.
In your transfer switch check for loose connections from Gen leads into TS and while your at it check all connections in TS especially stranded wire leads.
CHECK all leads with power off and be careful of circuit board in TS it may have a charge left on board with power off.

Any ideas? Yes four but one of them it is not.

First idea: Breakers on generator.. Make sure they have not shut themselves off

The generator may not be generating, Long story short version follows.

The Automatic transfer switch Damon put in my house... Failed and refused to transfer

The one it's not is: Some RV's have manual transfer systems, Since you have used the genrator before you'd know if that was the case.

Short version story:
Was parked on desert back in 2007, Neighbor's generator not only did not deliver power but quit as soon as finger removed from start button, Code said "NOT cranking fast enough/low battery" Turned out to be the brushes in the generator wore out.

NOTE: ONAN generators do check to see if they are generating powr and if not they shut down to save gas.. So if it's running, that is very likely NOT your problem.
Home is where I park it!
