GFI

My GFI outlets make a buzzing noise when on inverter. they work but buzz. when you trip them of buzzing stops . does any one else notice this ?

Do they, GFI's all do it, have you checked the wiring connections at the load center they are wired from especially the white ground connection feeding the buss bar.

MSW inverters here. Mine don't buzz. I did replace one once, the new replacement buzzed. Took it back to the point of purchased and bought a differing brand. No buzz.

Mine began buzzing when I replaced it with a new one from Home Depot. Was going to see if another one would solve the problem, but haven't got around to it.

I had the same problem. If they work fine when connected to store power but buzz with the inverter, its because of the modified sine wave of the inverter. I tried several different outlets recommended by the inverter manufacturer but never found one that did not buzz.

I upgraded to a pure sine wave inverter and no more buzz!!

As kjackson found out, MSW inverters are known to cause this with some GFCI's. The manual for the Freedom 2500 we had in our old coach actually specified which GFCI models were compatible with it.
