Right?! The tech wouldn’t even show me how it got there or how to remove because he said it should never have been programmed to do that.

This in its self is a little unnerving

I'm sure there's a good reason for it, maybe some folks want the awning to deploy as the sun is starting to pound on the coach each morning, but want it retracted during the night, or maybe self-deploy when they're not at the coach, providing shade anyway...

who knows, but not having it would probably also have some scratching their heads!

What keeps the awning from automatically deploying via timer while enroute down the highway. I'm thinking there's some things id like to do manually.

My understanding is that you should not be able to set a timer to extend the awning. It’s capable obviously . I believe you do everything manually. Unless there is a strong wind, then the awnings are designed to retract. There is a mechanism that when the engine is running, the awning should not extend. That is the extent of my knowledge. Sorry.

I posted a similar thread last year and again last month. My main awnings came out on their own and now the door awnings will go out. Taking it in for servicing next month, I hope they find the gremlins.

System has an ignition override that is suppose to prevent this. If the awning is extended and you start the engine, the awning/s should retract.

The question is WHEN is the awning extending? It seems to me Girard put in a system such as a timer after being in park OR jacks down that it's deploying? I don't have Girard but just trying to diagnose this issue and having heard from ARD on what Girard told her at FMCA. To diagnose the issue there needs to be a consensus of WHEN the awning is deploying and from that find a solution.
