Girard Awning Not Working
Just double checking - having had both my inverter and house batteries replaced, I now find that my patio awning isn't working (either with remote, or at the control panel). Safe to assume that since the system was completely without power for a time I need to re-pair the controller and the awnings or could it be something more sinister?

Do both awnings not work? Do they have power - I believe the red LED should be on on each controller? Are they still plugged into the basement outlet near the controllers? If no LED on controller, can you plug something else into the outlet to verify there is power?

Not sure what motorhome you have. Our 07 Essex has a GFCI circuit breaker in the half bath. When it trips, I lose power to the awnings….. just a thought.

2017 Mountain Aire. I am not precise on the Girard model number, it is one of the dual pitch style with lighting, but since they all work with the same G-Link controller systems I didn't think to mention it. I will check the power at the plug in and GFCI plugs. The control panel inside the coach has power. Just thought this might have been a problem others have encountered. Since it was working before the recent electrical work I have to assume it is related to the extended loss of power.
From what I read on the Girard site, the only means of communication to the motors is through the G-link system: The G-Link motors and control modules provided by Girard Systems communicate by use of RF signals on a frequency of 433.92 MHZ. This eliminates the need for wiring and the drilling of holes in the vehicle. These components must be electronically matched, programmed or paired before use. Should the need arise for the user to pair a device with the motor controller they must refer to the appropriate manual for the devices applicable to their particular installation.
I'll try to re-pair per instructions and see if that does the trick.

Check your GFCI outlets. My passenger side awnings are connected through the GFCI outlet in the cabinet in the half bath. 2019 LA.

Your awnings (Girard) are 110 volt powered awnings. Since the plugs to the awnings are in an outside bay, they have to be GFCI protected. So, most likely, as others stated you have a GFCI that is tripped.
If that doesn't solve it, there are three relays in a metal junction box in one of your bays, mine is the 3/4 bay. The three cover the two awnings and front door awning.

Just a little clarification since this confused me at first on our new coach. There is a GFI outlet somewhere that has many of the outlets in the coach wired through it. Ours is in the medicine cabinet in the half bath. Unlike your house where every outlet is its own separate GFI. Find that GFI outlet and see if it is tripped. If it is tripped you likely have other outlets that are not working as well.
Our double Girard awning system has tripped the GFI twice in 3 months. Have not figured out why or if this is just going to be a regular thing.

Sure would have been nice if they just put in a couple of GFI 110 breakers and rid our lives of all these hidden GFI outlets.

Curious to know why they do it that way. Just to save a couple bucks on the cost of GFI outlets? Or is there some other RV electrical reason behind this approach?

Good point-I have no idea, but I wouldn't think the cost would be much different because of the quantity of GFI outlets they use versus maybe just a couple of GFI breakers.

The GFCI for my Gerard awnings is under the kitchen cabinet above the sink.

Final Update. It was the GFCI in the mid-bath medicine cabinet that had tripped. I should know better. I had boats for 15 years and everything on a boat is tied to a GFCI. But put me in a MH and I start looking for complex problems when the solutions are quite often simple. Accordingly, I have taped a sign on my fusebox door - CHECK GFCI FIRST.

Our large Girard awning creeps out using the remote and the keypad above the driver seat. We can not get it to retract using the remote or keypad. The GFCI in the half bath is on and the other two awnings work. Are there any other GFCI to look for? The fuse looks good in the half bath. How do you manually retract it the last 6 inches. The 7mm wrench can not be used at that point.
We have a 2020 Newmar Essex Model 4551.
