My wife and I are relatively new members of NKK having joined in October of 2008. We are putting together our schedule for 2009 and saw where they are having an International Rally for Newmar in Goshen, August 1-8. We are interested in attending as we are wanting to meet some of the other NKK members. It also sounds fun, which is what we got into RV'ing for. Has anyone been to one of these, and do you suggest it to someone who is just getting their feet wet in RV'ing? Your input is much appreciated.

You'll enjoy the fellowship. Newmar people are good people. We have done the Newmar Alaska Caravan, Canadian Maritimes Caravan and the International in Vermont. Great times at each. Good friends from each of those Newmar events. It's on our calender.

You'll absolutely love the International Rally. I've been too a couple of them, and it was a fantastic time. The people are great, the classes are interesting, and the food and fellowship is always fun. I see you have a Scottsdale also. I have an '03 3257, same chassis. We love it.

We also plan our trip around rallies, it could be a local chapter, regional or international and if you don't enjoy yourself than something is wrong. Newmar people go out of their way to make you have a good time [they love newcomers].
Go to the NKK web site and look at the calender and you may even go to a luncheon.
Newmar cancelled the trip to Rocky Point Mexico, but one of the members got the list of members that signed up, e-mailed them and guess what we have about 9 rigs going on our own.
The Klub and members are great.

We have attended three International Rallies, four Region Rallies, one State Rally, Tampa two times, Quartzsite three times and did the Puerto Penasco, Mexico caravan two times. The last time we were a Caravan Leader.
Newmar owners are good people and we have enjoyed attending the rallies and chewing fat with other Newmar owners. We'll be at the rally in Ghosen if we can work it in our travels.

Hi Gene,
By all means, attend the International Rally in Goshen. I have volunteered for the "First Timers" orientation so we will see you there. Continue to check out the NKK Events section of this forum. I'll post additional details of the Rally there.
There are early arrival days (August 1 and 2), before the rally begins. These are the days when tours of the local area are held. The rally officially begins on August 3.
The Goshen area is outstanding for visiting the Amish country side, the RV museum and a tour of the Newmar plant.
