Has anyone installed the IRVWPC?

https://www.irvwpc.com/

What problems does it solve and are you pleased with the result?

I agree, it is interesting, but I am not sure I have that big of an issue with my water pump's operation now. Still, it is cool technology. I will keep an eye on the post.

IF someone could figure out a way to justify it other than the "weird" water surging, then I would be interested.

The features for water protection don't seem applicable to me, since I keep my pump running 24x7. My fresh water autofill has a pressure regulator set to 40PSI to ensure I am always running off the tank, so I just don't see anything to make me jump on it.

That being said...it is really a cool idea. Its like a micro-air easystart for the water pump.

How is this any different from a Variable Speed On-Demand RV Water Pump ? I hade one in my last coach and liked it so much after the coach caught on fire, I removed the pump and installed it on my current one.

I guess I've either been lucky for 40 years of RVing or I'm not overly sensitive to water flow...not sure which.

Over many RV's I've just never experienced the so-called "surging" issue. I did have one noisy pump, but it was because the manufacturer of the RV mounted it to a metal plate and had pvc pipe vs flexible hose right to the pump connectors. That was an easy fix.

A good quality pump mounted properly shouldn't need attachments, IMO. But that's just me.

IRVWPC pump controller

After I read your post I ordered one and it was delivered a few days later.
It was simple to install and works as promised. We had 2 taps on our coach that pulsed at any water output level. That's no longer the case, and the pump is quieter than before. The safety settings for run dry are appreciated too.
OEM's should make this a standard item.

I installed the IRVWPC in my 2018 NADP this week. I originally planned to install a REMCO variable speed pump, but its installation manual implies that it needs to be installed horizontally while my Newmar supplied Sureflo pump is mounted vertically on the wet bay sidewall. My installation was pretty easy and the outcome is as expected. No more surging and far less noise. This device is great for those who boondock. It saves a small amount of both water and battery power as it makes the motor (and pump) run more efficiently. Eliminating the surging has to extend the life of the pump and motor. I installed a DPDT toggle switch so I can switch from "Fixed" to "Variable" operation. The only additional item I needed was a check valve to prevent water from leaking through the worn seals in my pump. Terry at IRVWPC was extremely helpful in instructing me. I'm attaching a pic of my installation. For those who wonder why anyone would need this---you don't. But then again, why would anyone want a Tesla when a Camry performs the same task.

Best to my memory, the pump can be installed vertically, BUT they prefer the electric motor be above the pump parts incase of leaks in the connections. Make sense to me!

I replaced the factory pump which was installed vertically on the side wall with a Remco which I installed horizontally on the wet bay floor - no issues, in fact easier to get to if you run into problems.
