Having trouble with drivers seat footrest

As others have had, I too am not able to extend the drivers seat foot rest. The fuse looks good and besides when I depress the extend button I can hear the electrical connection hum, motor trying to work. The plunger is not depressed or sticky. In looking at the wires behind the seat I can not find where or if something is supposed to be connected to the wiring harness plug at the end of the yellow arrow. There is a plug on that orange wire to the plunger that has one horizontal and one vertical connection in the harness that is not connected to anything. At the end of the red arrow there is a red and black wire to the ignition switch that is not connected to anything either. That wiring harness connection has two horizontal wires in it. Those two connections do not fit together but are not connected to anything, should they be, if so what and where? Could this be my issue.

If possible could someone post a picture of the wires behind their driver seat for comparison to mine.

Any ideas would be helpful, thanks in advance

They have plastic gears, perhaps they are stripped
