Head Knocker

Above the drivers seat is the AV electronics cabinet of our VTDP 3709. The bottom right corner of the cabinet is strategically mis-located so that I occasionally smack the top of my head into that corner. While still smarting a bit from my last collision, I'm wondering if anyone will admit that they, too, have smacked their head on this corner. Even better would be some advice (or a photo) on how to protect this corner (or my head) from such collisions.

I'm bracing myself for some abuse on this one.

Yes...looking for a pad acceptable to DW to minimize headaches. Big yellow noodle is not.

I bought some rubber corner pads that stick on with a two sided tape adhesive. The corners I bought were brown and actually looked fine. At least when I would bump my head on the corner it didn't hurt much with the rubber corners installed. If you search Amazon for rubber baby proofing corner guards I think you will see the options available.

Head Knocker

If you have a modicum of woodworking skills and a couple of basic tools you can round off that corner to render it non_lethal.

If plan A won't work, a campground friend could likely help you out. Price ought not be more than a couple of beers or a few glasses of wine.

On a separate but related matter, my 02 DS has the standard TV cabinetry of its day.

I will be rebuilding this unit in the next month or so to accommodate a larger flat screen which will fold up for travel, thus eliminating the low box. I shall report on completion.

I hit my head on that corner more than once.

I found these corner bumpers at Lowes and haven't had any issues since. These may be the same item mentioned in post #3 above.

I'll fess up. I banged my beam pretty good last week. I was seeing stars and was dizzier than usual, at least according the DW!

Looks like great solution. I'm on my way to Lowe's.

I hit it once, so far (knock on wood!) haven't done it again. I'm very careful getting into the seat now! I really like the 2018 design change on these. The AV cabinet was moved to the side, the TV was offset from center, and the controls cabinet was made longer and narrower. Big improvement.
