The original fake leather on our headboard is developing holes. The headboard appears to be glued to the wall. Does anyone know how to remove the headboard so it can be reupholstered?

I don't know what changes in assembly methods Newmar made in the 15 years between our coaches , but my headboard had four screws hidden in the folds of the fabric .

Ours was held on by double sided tape. Miles of it. I started at one corner and sloooowly pulled and pried it until I got it off. Be very careful. That wall material is very thin and if you use something like a claw hammer or pry bar you can punch a hole in the wall. I now know from past experience.

My 2018 Bay Star has series of six or so snap head screws just below top of mattress with snap off button caps covered with same material as headboard. At the top of headboard, Newmar used double stick tape. I probably would have preferred the same fasteners as used at the bottom.
That was it. There are some screws covered by buttons hidden by the mattress. We can now replace that awful synthetic leather or whatever it is. Thank you all for the help.
