Heated Floor First Time use

I am trying to test my heated floors, and want to know the best way to test. How long should I expect it to take to be noticeably warm, when set to the highest setting.

Is there any reason the floors should automatically turn off?

In my limited testing, I have had the floors set to high and have not noticed any heat in about 2 hours. With the KIB controls, I am not sure if the momentary press I am doing to check the status is turning them off, or if they are turning themselves off.

We just started using ours this week, so I'm certainly no expert. We turn them on in the morning, using a setting of 4 and it takes 45-60 minutes for the floors to become noticeably warm. Our floors are controlled through SilverLeaf, so don't know anything about the "testing" process you are describing. If we have it, we haven't found it yet.

Haven't tried the maximum heat setting yet, but we're finding that a couple of spots along the bedroom/rear bath wall next to the bed get much warmer than the rest of the floor. Don't know if that is normal, but it will go on the check list for next spring's visit to Nappanee.

Turn them on and us a digital inferred thermometer and read the temp. Our will be in 80 to 85 degrees range in about 1 hour. Keeps us warm down to 45 degrees.

Barefoot, I can feel ours start to change in less than 10 minutes. Ours is the KIB control with low, med, high. They should never shut off during normal operation unless something is wrong or there's a programming glitch in the system (which they had an issue with a couple years ago). Once our's got reprogrammed, they have worked flawlessly.

Check the amp draw on your ME-RC or ME-ARC. The kitchen zone floor heat in my 2016 DSDP 4369 draws 7 amps when operating on high. There is also a click that sounds like a relay closing when I turn mine on at the KIB switch. I can tell a difference in the temperature of the floor within an hour of turning it on.

The heated floors on my 2015 London Aire work great it does take time for them to heat up. There is no thermostat on these as they are on a timer. The higher you turn them on the longer they will stay on. I’m assuming that they will stay on longer during the cycle.

If you have a DS you have three settings. The difference in the settings is the on / off cycle time. On high, the heater will run longer than in the low position. Barefoot, should feel a difference in ten or so minutes.

Ok, explain this as I think this is what I was referring to when the system shutoff on own.

I had it set to low, came back after about 30 min and the light for heat was off, but the setting was still illuminating low.

With your post, it sounds like the heater will cycle between active/inactive and the duration of the cycle is based on the setting?

Trying to test the heated floors when it is hot is not an easy task.

this is correct....it cycles....and it stays on longer on the higher settings....

and yes, testing them when warm is not easy....

So if I read this right the floor will not maintain a temp overnight?

When you set the mode, low med high, that light stays on. The heating light will cycle on and off, that’s normal. Illuminated, the heaters are getting power.

That is what it was doing. I didn't understand the timer portion.

Ya know.....since I owned my 2014 DS for 4.5 years, I figured I would walk into the 2019 and everything would pretty much be the same, with a very little learning curve. BUT.....so much has changed electronically since my 2014, I think I've got a LOT of catching up to do. Dang!

We spent the night in a rental house so that the family didn't have to wake up so early. I left the coach running on high floor heat overnight.

I will say it works. Now testing the AC system
