We used the heated floors in our New Aire this weekend and they were terrific. The outside temp only got down to 50 though. I had the floors set to 4 and they kept the coach very comfortable. How cold can it get outside before the heated floors will need help from the furnace?

If I remember correctly we were told anything below 40 you may want to consider the furnace but definitely when it gets to the 30s.

The heated floors always feel good. I walk around in my bare feet and my circulation might not be the best because my feet are always cold. If you’re talking about how cold can it be outside and still be comfortable inside with only the floor heat, 40 is a good number. But I don’t mind the warm floor with the air conditioning running, so I’m probably the odd case.

We have heated tile floors (electric grid heat) and while it does a nice job heating up the rig, we don't count on them to provide all our heat when it gets cold. There is no question the floor heat reduces the need for your other heating source to be used or reduces the cycles for your other heat source/s. We just set our thermostat to whatever temp we want and let the floor heat and the heat pumps or Aqua Hot run when necessary.

You can definitely feel the heat radiating up from the floors.

You'll have to experiment it is likely different from coach to coach. We just got home this morning from 10 days in CO and used floor heat every night. Took the water hose in a couple times with lows near 30 and frankly furnace hardly came on at all. My experience so far is Newmar builds such a well insulated coach it just doesn't take much to keep it comfortable.

Heated Floors were on our list when we purchased our 16 DS. Even though we don't do "a lot" of cold weather travel, often times you find yourself smack in the middle of something.
Last year heading west it was cold and rainy the whole day. Finally stopped early in Van Horn Texas and it was 38. Only heat we used that night was the floor heat. Very cozy!
